This article is amazing. The Sierra Club and environmentalists needs to decide just what they do want. Sorry about the Condor but if we try to keep the air clean by alternative energy and this is a good site for a wind farm. I go with people over a bird.

I am all for wind energy but I think the project could've picked a better area than protected habitats.

Why not offshore. If they can drill there, why not put wind turbines there? Seems like I remember the wind always blowing near the coast.

The same people who hate oil and insist that we use alternatives are the people who fight tooth and nail against windmills and solar farms anywhere within hundreds of miles of them.

Let the government get involved and the project will never be built because the fools in government just don't have a sence of reality and they can drag this out for centuries.

If there was enough wind in my area I would definitely have a wind generator. Then again I wouldn't want to live where there is enough wind for onw.

They are building zero enrgy houses that actually make money selling electricity back to the power company. Sounds like that may be a pretty sound national policy. Short term cost would be a bit higher but long term gain would be substansial.

This is another issue that should have been resolved long ago. Being as condors are endangered, Dept of Fish & Wildlife should be tracking them. They should know just as well as the Sierra Club how many and where they are. If they are there; don't build. If not; go ahead.

I really wish I could see how much money these things cost versus the amount of power they generate. Are they really worth the cost and eyesore they present?
California had been paying people to poison squirrels in the vicinity of wind turbines so that eagles would not look for them there as a food source.

I disagree with 'no monkey2002' because one of the birds is our national symbol and should remain unharmed. We already have enough FOOLS in Congress and the WH doing their best in ruining already. time to take back our country.

Environmentalists have a clear message:
* We can't keep doing what we're doing now.
* We can't do anything else.

Being in Calif. I have seen areas where we already have turbines and let me say its ugly to see 1000 turbines on the hills as you travel. I would rather see solar produced in the desert areas.
