Infrastructure improvements in Oklahoma and Texas should raise the value of WTI crude, reducing the Brent premium. Why then refine tar sands oil in eastern Canada rather than in British Columbia, when the Chinese and Indian markets are to be served?

It would be Great if Canada could keep this oil and refine it for their own use and not have to import any rather than tear up everything in it's way to send it abroad.

Since they plan on exporting the oil anyway (and won't guarantee that the oil or the refined products will stay in the USA), they should build their pipeline in their own country.

The world is so hungry for oil therefore there are powerful forces that the Canadian oil will come to market one way or another.

Yet ANOTHER reason to FIRE Obama before it is too late to undo the harm the overmatched, in over his head, ideologue is causing.
For the short term we can count on Canada's NIMBY and Luddite Green Left lobbies to delay plans to send the oil anywhere but here. Five years might be too long and the Canadians might make some progress on getting the oil to Red China and then it would be too late. We NEED to send Obama to the unemployment line where he so richly deserves to be.
Remember - on Election Day - FIRE LIBERALS! (and do NOT hire new ones).

Since we won't build the Keystone pipeline, What a Canadian company to do. Make it happen through Panama, Soon they shipping crude oil right by California why we import to the same ports. California is exporting refine energy to raise price all ready.

Seems like a smart move. If the US can't get their act together they have to move their oil to people who really want it...

Shell closed their refinery in Montreal because they have (along with Motiva), recently completed construction on a refinery here in Port Arthur, TX. which will easily take care of the operations there in Montreal and many other locations that are now in operation. I believe the refinery is easily the largest in North America.

Taken from the article:
TransCanada spokesman James Millar said it's much cheaper to build refining capacity in Eastern Canada, which can access a larger market in Canada, the U.S. East Coast, Europe and even India and China, but the refinery sector can't develop until a pipeline is in place from the West.
Notice the work China. Why not supply the USA, I thought we were neighbors.
