It also seems that most responded based on the headline, not any of the facts in the story.

Actually, it seems jumpmaster posted the story because of the headline... not the facts in the story.

Apparently SavinginNC isn't interested in a company actually saving money or being able to choose a company car they want.

This is jumpmaster's REPOST of old news with a very misleading headline.
A GE division is purchasing a new fleet of company vehicles. GE's very fortunate employees in this division will have the use of a nice new company car. It is so rough to be "forced" to use a company car now!

poor babies....usually company vehicles are leased for a three-year time span or purchased with a specific window of use. They do not buy all the company cars every year. Usually, companies rotate purchase over several years.....

GE has become an arm(interest) of the government, just like GM(government motors)
they're telling us what we can/cannot drive, they're even telling our children what they can/cannot eat in their lunch. Government Intrusion

Agreed. I hate to say it, but reading some of the replies in this thread makes me wonder how some people live past puberty with so little ability to read and comprehend the English language.

Sounds like a good match to me....General Electric and Volt EV's. After all, our GE complex here will be producing varied industrial types of lithium batteries. It'll be a good opportunity for all those that develope these energy sources to be able to experience their applications in real life. What better place to "plug in" than at a GE Plant.

Even more posts by ignoranuses.
1) The article is about GE company cars, not private vehicles.
2) The Volt is not an electric car with limited range. It's a hybrid, that can run on gasoline when you can't recharge it.
3) Where is there anything in this about tax dollars?
4) Or subsidies?
5) Or Obama?
6) Or a "gummint agency"?
7) Or "tax breaks for the super rich"?
