Gas prices put the pinch on
Sunday, May 11, 2008
Kingman Miner -- KINGMAN - In these dark days where $4 a gallon for gas isn't an unrealistic nightmare, but an accepted eventuality, no news is usually good news where the pump is concerned. Unfortunately, we've got news. The Department of Energy this week released a revised outlook for both gasoline and crude oil prices over the coming months. The good news is, gas prices are expected to peak, as they typically do, in early June - at about $3.73 nationwide for a gallon of regular unleaded. After that, prices will level off to an average $3.52 a gallon for the remainder of the year.

Actually the original poster was the one who said "as soon as the sumer holidays are over it'll drop back down!..." I was commenting on the logical inconsistency within his own statement.

Seasonal variation can affect demand/supply/price. There are many other factors which can amplify, mitigate or overwhelm such trends.

So using your logic mmproteus, shouldn't prices go back down at the end of summer when demand DECREASES?

"...during the peak driving season, prices will soar, but as soon as the sumer holidays are over it'll drop back down!... Everyone knows oil companies artificially inflate prices during summer."

This guy thinks that price increases during peak demand are artificial. Oil companies (like all companies) charge what the market will bear. When demand goes up, more people are willing to pay higher prices. This is natural not artificial. Let's all work together to verify the logical consistency of our posts. Thanks in advance!

Hey LukeIN...whatever happened to Pelosi's promise that they will lower the gas prices once they got into office?...oh, that's right, its probably Bush and Cheney's fault.

Trust a politician and you'll always get burned in the end. Need to open your eyes Pal...

"kingdick is wrong on chrysler."

I have owned many cars over the years and have NEVER had a problem with any of the Plymouths, Dodges or Chrysler or even the DeSota I still have.

For a while I used to repair car to make extra money, One of the most common request in the 80's was replacing honda engines with used ones. The demand for used engines got to the point that the cost was too high I could not make any money so I stopped working on honda's.

I have a toyota land cruiser I did not get much use out of.
It is setting in my garage because I can not afford the trans repairs.
It got to 69785 miles before the trans quit.
I doubt I would ever buy another toyota. I did like to drive it before it quit.

I am hoping they prices don't get too much higher by the time I go on vacation (in fact I hope they get lower) since I drive to where I'm going.

I am even thinking about putting a hydrogen booster in my cars to help save money.

Right now it is blue but we are expecting more rain tomorrow !!!
Of coarse the fields are so wet our neighbors are having trouble getting the crops planted. More rain is not needed now.

Gas goes up and salaries stay the same. You make less and less per week/month due to our lovely oil companies and the Sheik that has the diamond encrused car !!!! Glad we paid for that nice, simple car.

UNTRUE no repairs !!!
I have had JEEPS since my first a 1946 thru now a 2006.
The only problem I ever had was when an idiot in a buick drove past parked cars cutting across the parking stalls and rammed the drivers side.
