Whats the problem, gas prices aren't high enough yet? BP has already ponied up for 20 billion, isn't that enough - US congress, EPA etc etc government entities get out of the way and let business produce some jobs

Night Owl -- I totally agree...the negligent party should be responsible for all damages associated with the accident. Even with BP's $20 Billion compensation fund, it won't even come close to covering all costs and losses associated to the Deep Horizon incident.

Time for an overhaul of the Congress. Get rid of the moochers. These spills seem to be a deterrent to the elections.

When a company is negligent, they should be responsible for every penny of damage they cause.

It's got to happen. If they want a ceiling on dollars, it could be tied to a % of GDP or Cost of Living or the price on a gallon of gas, anything. But the current Liability Cap has got to go.

Who's more scummy, the lobbyist or the lawmaker who takes their money. Vote your opinion.

Probably one of the safest things the government could do is to quit pushing the oil companies out so far. Let them drill in shallow waters where it is safer.

shouldn't be any cap on recovery cost. oil company should be 100% responsible for clean up cost.
